How Online Therapy Works

Support that meets you where you are—literally

Virtual Meeting
Therapy that fits into your life

For many of my clients, online therapy has been a game-changer. Whether it's due to limited mobility, a hectic schedule, or simply the comfort of being at home, working together online offers the same level of personalised, effective support—without the travel.

I'll admit, it’s not for everyone. Some people truly value being in the room with someone, and that’s completely valid. But for those who like convenience, privacy, and flexibility—online therapy might be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

How does it work?

Online sessions are conducted over a secure, encrypted video platform. All you need is:

  • A private, quiet space

  • A reliable internet connection

  • A phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone

Once connected, we begin just like an in-person session. You’ll be guided through strategic conversations and, if appropriate, hypnotherapy—tailored to your needs and goals.

Does it actually work?

Yes - and it's one of the positives to come out of the pandemic!

Research continues to show that online therapy is just as effective as face-to-face sessions for many issues, including:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Stress

  • Habit change

Some studies even suggest that being in a familiar environment can help people open up more easily.

  • A 2018 meta-analysis in The Lancet found online CBT as effective as in-person therapy for anxiety and depression.

  • A 2021 study published in JMIR Mental Health highlighted significant improvement in client wellbeing via video-based therapy.

  • The Australian Psychological Society endorses online therapy as a safe, evidence-based option.

Benefits of Online Therapy

🕒 It fits into your schedule: No more driving across town or taking time off work. Book sessions around your day—before work, during lunch, or once the kids are asleep.

🏠 Comfort and privacy: Feel at ease in your own space. Many clients find it easier to relax, open up, and process emotions from the comfort of home.

📍 Location doesn't limit access: Live regionally or interstate? Travelling? Prefer not to leave home? Or would you like to put some distance between your therapist and location? Online therapy brings support to your doorstep—wherever you are.

Accessibility matters: If you experience health or mobility challenges—or you're neurodivergent—online therapy can reduce overwhelm and improve access.

🔒 Safe and secure: I use encrypted, professional platforms to protect your confidentiality and ensure your safety.

Is it right for you?

Online therapy won’t be the best fit for everyone—and that’s okay. If you’re someone who needs the in-person presence of another to feel safe or grounded, we can talk about that too.

But if you're ready for support that’s flexible, convenient, and effective—online might be the perfect match.

Let’s talk about time…

“I don’t have time” used to be a reason to put off therapy. But with online sessions, support is now easier to access than ever.

This is therapy that works around your life, not against it.
